OBITUARY Hazel (Collins) Waddell Hamby June 12, 1929 – August 27, 2018 Play Tribute Movie Hazel Maxine Collins Hamby, 89, of Nacogdoches was born June 12, 1929, and raised in the Eden Community of Nacogdoches County. Her father, Sterling Dee Collins, and mother, Bertie Davis, were also from the Eden Community. She passed away August 27, 2018, at her home in Nacogdoches.

Hazel attended Douglas School. After many years Hazel moved to Houston, graduated from Sam Houston High School, and attended St. Joseph’s Nursing School to become a Registered Nurse. She later married Henry Legrande Waddell, of Houston.

Together they had three children, which she leaves behind, Henry Legrande Jr., Holly Elizabeth, and Hunt Hamilton. Later she returned to the Nacogdoches area rekindling her friendship with E.V. Hamby. They soon married remaining together until E.V.’s passing in 2016.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 15, 2018, at Cason Monk-Metcalf Funeral Directors, 5400 North Street in Nacogdoches. The service will be officiated by Chaplain Dwayne Thornton. A visitation with reception will be held prior to the funeral beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Cason Monk-Metcalf.

Pallbearers will be Hunt Waddell, Hank Waddell, Adam Bates, Darrell Caldwell, Jeff Wyatt, Keaton Morgan, and Terry Hamby. Memorial contributions may be made to Eden Cemetery Association, P.O. Box 22, Douglass, Texas 75943. Please visit www.
