Helen Marie Boucher, 84, Indiana, passed in peace Friday, November 16, 2018. The daughter of Merle Edward and Elma Vivian (Hartman) Shingledecker, she was born April 28, 1934 in Clarion, PA. Helen was a member of the Church of the Brethren where she served on church council.

She also had been a volunteer for the Indiana County Food Bank. Her hands were never still. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting, decorating, playing bingo, and traveling.

She loved holiday preparation for her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Surviving are her children, Debra (Larry) Niemeier, Rural Valley, Steve (Carol) Plavi, Cabot, Mary Ann (David) Lind, Indiana, and David Plavi, Elderton; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Patricia Mikell, MS, Cathy (Terry) Woolston, MI. ; she was blessed with wonderful friends including, Jim, Joan, Ken, neighbors, Maple Valley Personal Care Home residents and staff, and church family.

Helen was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Stephanie Bash; granddaughter, Rebbeca Markitell; sisters, Irene Johnson, Florence Swartz, Harriet Hochstine ; brothers, John, Thomas, and Daniel Shingledecker. A celebration of her life will be conducted Sunday, November 18, noon, at the Church of the Brethren, Indiana, with Rev. Kirt Anderson, officiating.

A private interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery. The John A. Lefdahl Funeral Home is assisting with the arrangements.
