Obituary for Helen Bowman Westmoreland Mrs. Helen Bowman Westmoreland, age 87, of Johnson City, TN passed away on Friday, April 27, 2018, in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Burgess and Sarah Russell Bowman and was born in Elizabethton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Westmoreland and a daughter, Yvonne Westmoreland Bullard.

Mrs. Westmoreland was a retired school teacher and attended Pinecrest Baptist Church. She was a prolific writer of handwritten notes and cards and she loved to scrapbook and color. Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Melvin Westmoreland, of Atlanta, GA; Cathy Westmoreland Waters, of the home; Curtis Westmoreland, of Fayetteville, NC; and Barry Westmoreland, of Tracy, CA.

Numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive her. A graveside service for Mrs. Westmoreland will be conducted at 12:30 PM on Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Those wishing to attend are invited to meet the family at the cemetery at 12:20 PM.
