Obituary for Helen Brewer Smith Helen Virginia (Brewer) Smith, 96 of Marietta died Thursday, May 24, 2018. Visitation will be held at 10:00am on Thursday and the Funeral Service, led by Rev. Bobby Therrell, will start at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home in Marietta.

Interment will be held at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta. Mrs. Smith was born May 16, 1922 in Seneca, South Carolina and went on to win the title of Miss Greenville. She was a resident of Cobb County since 1948 and was a retired real estate developer and hotel owner.

In Cobb County, she and her husband, W.B. Smith, built and operated the Smith Motel, Marietta Motel, Mayflower Motel and Northside Apartments. Helen was predeceased by her husband of 66 years, William Buick “W.B.” Smith; daughter, Sandra Smith; daughter, Marilyn Eller; and Son-in-Law, Charles “Chuck” Green. Her survivors include daughter, Linda Smith Green; granddaughter, Kimberly Green Sterling and her husband, Jeroen; grandson, Wesley Eller; granddaughter, Lindsey Smith; great grandson, Jesse Fogle; great granddaughter, Adrianna Johnson; Son-in-Law, James Smith; and Cousin; Larry Brewer.
