Obituary for Helen C. Menke Helen C. Menke, 100, of Spartanburg, SC, died Saturday, July 7, 2018, at The Village of Summerville. Born October 27, 1917 in Cochran, GA, she was the daughter of the late Turner S. Cranford and Alma Blackshear Cranford and the widow of Arthur E. Menke. Helen was a devoted homemaker, member of Central United Methodist Church, Altar Guild, Norton Sunday School Class, and Lake Norman Yacht Club.

She was a hospital volunteer for nearly 20 years and also helped work with Mental Health through the church. She is survived by son, Gregory Arthur Menke and his wife, Chris of Charlottesville, VA; daughter, Sherry Menke-Wilson and her husband, Steve of Summerville, SC; grandson, William Menke; granddaughter, Kristen Menke both of Charlottesville, VA; sister, Marian Simmons of Aiken, SC; three nephews and one niece. Visitation will be held 1:30-2:30 PM Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at Floyd’s Greenlawn Chapel, 2075 E. Main St., Spartanburg, SC 29307.

Graveside services will follow at 3:00 PM in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, 1300 Fernwood-Glendale Road, Spartanburg, SC 29307, conducted by The Rev. Dr. Tom Norrell. Mrs. Menke would like to be remembered with memorials to Central United Methodist Church Building Fund, 233 N. Church St., Spartanburg, SC 29306 or Mobile Meals, P.O. Box 461, Spartanburg, SC 29304.

The family would like to thank the staff of The Village at Summerville along with Intrepid Hospice for all the love and care they gave to Helen. The family will be at the home.
