Helen “Nana” Brown Helen was born January 28, 1930 in Akron, Ohio to John “Jack” and Edna Mulloy. She was the second of fourteen children. She departed this life on Monday, February 4, 2019 peacefully at home in Independence, Missouri.

She graduated from Streetsboro High School in 1948. She married John Arnold Brown on November 17, 1951. In October of 1952 they welcomed their daughter Jean and in February of 1954 their son Don completed the family.

During the summer of 1956 the family moved to Southern California. In 1976 John and Helen retired and moved to Willow Springs, Missouri. To be closer to family she moved to Independence in October 1994.

She is survived by daughter; Jean and Gary Lerno of Independence, and son; Don and Karen Brown of Knob Noster, Missouri. Grandsons John I Brown of the home, Kenny and Karla Brown of Knob Noster, Justin and Beth Lerno of Independence, Jonathan and Ruth Lerno of Bates City, Missouri, Jeffrey and Monique Lerno of Beaverton, Oregon, Paul Brown of Knob Noster, Joshua Brown of Knob Noster and Granddaughter Jennifer Brown of Cabot, Arkansas. Fifteen Great Grandchildren, Kelsea, Kirstyn, Alexius, Caitlee, Griffin, Lincoln, Kameron, Amelia, Warren, Grant, Mason, Dakota, Anna, Arin and David, five sisters and 1 brother.

She was preceded in death by her husband John A, her parents, four brothers and four sisters. She never knew a stranger and was known as Nana and loved by all. Arrangements are still pending at this time.
