Helen I. Manthey January 20, 1935 – May 8, 2019 Helen I. Manthey, 84, Michigan City, Indiana, passed away Wednesday, May 8, 2019 at 8:15 am in Franciscan Health – Michigan City. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm, Thursday, May 16, 2019 at Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel, 418 Washington St., Michigan City, IN. Burial will follow in Heckman Cemetery, Hesston, IN.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, Wednesday and from 11:00 am – 12: 00 pm Thursday at the Ott/Haverstock Funeral Chapel. She was born January 20, 1935 in Mattoon, Illinois to the late William and Hazel (Whitaker) Bolin. Surviving are three daughters, Susan (Ray) Garcia of Bourbonnais, IL, Linda Sutton of Michigan City, IN and Diane Manthey of Houston, TX; three grandchildren, Larry Sutton, Raymond Garcia and Richie Garcia; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Betty (Gordon) Lepley of Atlanta, GA; and daughter-in-law, Judy Manthey of Grand Island, NE.

She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Manthey; sister, Shirley Keller; step granddaughter, Brenda Klisiak; and a special person and life partner, Russell Meska. Helen worked in property management for 25 years retiring as controller for Blank Management Group. She also held her brokers license in real estate.

Her hobbies included painting, antiques, decorating and reading. Contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. .
