Obituary for Helen Jane Brown Godley – Helen Jane Brown, 91, passed away Monday, May 7, 2018. Helen grew up on the North Side and attended North Side High School, on “The Hill”. Her lifetime job as a Telegraph Operator with Western Union led to many stories from World War II, the oil business and celebrities.

Helen married James Glenn Greener at the end of the war. After their divorce, she married Loyd P. Brown, who preceded her in death. Survivors: Daughter, Glennda Simmons; granddaughter, Leslie Thomas and husband, Ricky; four great-grandsons, Jessie, Darin, Shawn and Joe; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
