Helen Marie Gladkowski, age 103, of Export, formerly of McKeesport, died January 9, 2019. Born November 7, 1915, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Victoria (Mrowinski) Kosiarek and the wife of late Walter M. (Whitey) Gladkowski, Sr. to whom she was married for 52 years. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church where she was a Christian Mother and a Catholic Daughter.

Helen was a member of the Y-Teen group, Sew & So Club, Export Moose and the Murrysville Senior Center. Helen worked as a matron on a bus for special needs children in the McKeesport School District. She enjoyed playing cards and duck pin bowling.

Helen is survived by her daughter, Judith A. Shank, of Phoenix, AZ; daughter-in-law, Louise M. Gladkowski of Export; grandchildren, Walter M. (Michael) Gladkowski, III of Export, Brenda L. (Michael J.) DeMonica of Cortland, OH and Jill A. (Paul S.) Gerding of Scottsdale, AZ; great grandchildren, Nicholas M. and Jason M. DeMonica and Reilly N. and Hope M. Gerding; sister, Sophie Mandella of Upper St. Clair; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by a son, Walter M. Gladkowski, Jr.; siblings, Irene Sowa, John Kosiarek and Eleanor Miller. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, January 13, from Noon to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, 10:00 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church, 2515 Versailles Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132.

Committal will follow in St. Mary’s German Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to Promise Hospice of Greensburg, Suite 310, 121 N. Main St., Greensburg, PA 15601. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.
