Obituary for Helen Radford Owens Helen R. Owens, born January 5, 1921 to James A. Radford and Mary Elizabeth Radford in Cadiz, Kentucky, passed away at Baptist Health Hospital on December 3, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was affectionately known as “Mama Helen”. Helen was very active in her church and community.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Daughters of Isis and an active member of Eastview Baptist Church where she was a member of the Nurses’ Aide Department, the Choir, the Culinary Department, and the Mother’s Board. In addition, she was a member of the Hopkins Countians for Progress organization. Helen is preceded in death by her mother, Mary E. Radford; her father, James A. Radford; two sisters: Almedia Howell and Minnie W. Thompson; and three children: James R. Owens, Cora Lee Owens and Lawrence “Larry” Owens, Jr

She is survived by her daughter, Lurena Johnson; sons: William (Elizabeth) and Darryl (Donna) Owens; daughters-in-law: Rocelia Owens and Gloria Owens; and many descendants. Funeral services will be held Friday, December 7, 2018 at 1:00pm at Eastview Baptist Church with Pastor LaBarron F. McAdoo, Jr., officiating. Viewing will be from 11:00am until service time.

Burial at Eastside Odd Fellows Cemetery in Madisonville. Arrangements entrusted to Mason & Sons Funeral Home. Condolences may be left at www.
