Mrs. Marion Jean Brengle Eldred, age 94 of Franklin, KY, passed away at 10:54 AM Friday, November 23, 2018 at her residence. Arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 5:00 PM at Franklin Presbyterian Church in Franklin, KY.

A private interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, KY. Jean was born March 2, 1924 in Chicago, IL to the late Ralph Thomas Brengle and the late Emma Meissner Brengle. She was the wife of the late William “Bill” Lancaster Eldred.

She was preceded in death by a son Robert Alan Eldred and a brother Alan Brengle. She is survived by her 2 daughters, Lynn Eldred Blair (David) of Knoxville, TN, and Jerry Eldred Thornton (Brian) of Steamboat Springs, CO, 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Blair, Emma Cox, Melissa Marum, and Baille Barbour and 10 great grandchildren. Jean was a member of Franklin Presbyterian Church, the Literacy Council, Ella Hoy Goodnight Music Club, FS Arts Council, and BPW.

Jean was a retired teacher, avid skier and tennis player, accomplished pianist, licensed pilot, and world traveler with her late husband Bill Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until 5:00 PM Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Franklin Presbyterian Church, Franklin, KY.
