Jacqueline “Jackie” Greenwell, age 60, of Germantown, IL, formerly of Evansville, Indiana, and Decatur, Illinois, passed away at 5:15 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, at Barnes Hospital. Jackie was born on August 11, 1958, in Evansville, IN, to Bill and Sharon (McKee) Greenwell. She graduated from Castle High School in 1976.

Jackie received a bachelor’s degree in journalism and communications from Purdue University in 1980. She drove a school bus for the Decatur, Illinois, school system while pursuing her passion in nursing and graduated from Parkland College in Champaign, IL. She worked as a registered nurse, in the emergency department at Decatur Memorial Hospital and St. Mary’s Hospital, while living in Decatur, IL.

She became a travel nurse and worked at numerous hospitals in the state of Illinois while completing her Master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) from Walden University in 2017. She most recently worked in the intermediate care unit at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield, Illinois. Jackie was a member of the Oak Hill Church of Christ on Oak Hill Road.

She was an advocate for her patients, always trying to be sure they got the best care. She was a loyal friend to many people throughout her life. She loved to travel, shop, and adored her furbabies.

She is survived by her parents, sister, Darcy Weyerbacher, of Boonville; nieces and nephew. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel – A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Avenue with the Minister, Jon Riley officiating. Burial will be in Bellefontaine Cemetery in Mt.

Vernon, IN. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m., Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at BOONE FUNERAL HOME EAST CHAPEL. Memorial Contributions may be made to your favorite charity in Jackie’s name or Oak Hill Church of Christ, 4311 Oak Hill Road, Evansville, IN, 47711.
