Helen L. Reed, 79, of Corydon, passed away on February 17, 2019 in Corydon. Helen was born on August 17, 1939 in Princeton, Missouri to Virgil and Ruth (Beverage) Rushton. She graduated from Princeton High School in 1958.

On October 11, 1959 she married Robert Reed and to this union, three children were born. Helen owned and operated Grandma’s House in Corydon for several years. Her family and friends were the highlight of her life.

She enjoyed cooking and taking care of people. Helen gave selflessly, expecting nothing in return. Helen is survived by her husband of 59 years, Robert; children: Carol (John) Mayberry of Bloomfield, Tom (Jonna) Reed of Corydon and Mary (Troy) Dusenberry of Des Moines.

She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and her sister, Diana (Wayne) Chandler and their family from Goodyear, Arizona. She was preceded in death by her parents. A Celebration of Life Open House will be held from 11:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Thomas Funeral Home in Corydon.

Private interment will be held at a later date at Corydon Cemetery.
