Helen Jo Wilson Hodges, 86, of 218 Hunt Street, widow of Calvin Lee Hodges, died Tuesday, February 26, 2019 at Hospice House. Born in Oconee County, she was a daughter of the late Dewitt Talmadge Wilson, Sr. and Ina Cowan Wilson. She was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Greenwood College of Commerce and retired as the collection manager for Home Credit Barclays.

She was a member of Rice Memorial Baptist Church and was a former member of Providence Baptist Church, where she served in the preschool department for 35 years and was the nursery coordinator for 30 years. Surviving are her son, Steve Wilson Hodges of the home; a sister, Wilma Ponder and brothers, Marett Wilson (Reba) and Ralph Wilson (Marie), all of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by a sister, Guynell Ridlehoover and a brother, Dewitt T. Wilson, Jr. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Harley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev.

Sam O’Shields and the Rev. Alvin Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be Marshall Ridlehoover, Frank Ridlehoover, Joe Ponder, Greg Wilson, Calvin B. Hodges, Brian Ridlehoover, Bennie Hodges and Steven Anthony. Honorary escort will be Lee Caldwell, Ronnie Ledford, Rudy White, Gary Anthony, Bill Leister, Richard Moss, Cary Ponder and Brodie Ledford. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. The family is at the home of her sister, Wilma Ponder, 315 Jackson Street.
