Loving wife, mother and grandmother passed away Tuesday, February 26, 2019 after a long illness. Age 86 years. Daughter of the late Henry and Margaret (Doyen) Vereyken, Henrietta was born June 18, 1932 in Esville, Michigan.

She attended St. John’s School graduating in 1950. She was married to James Hensler on October 20, 1962. He survives her.

Henrietta was a reading re teacher in the Saginaw School System and taught abroad. She was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church, Saginaw Farm and Garden, the I.F.Y.E. Program and did an exchange to Luxemburg in 1956.

She was also a 4H Leader for over 55 years. Henrietta enjoyed reading, gardening, traveling, making baskets and especially spending time with her family and grandchildren. Surviving besides her husband James are one daughter and two sons, Heidi and Joseph Liss, Saginaw Twp.

; Rick Hensler and Marcy, Saginaw Twp. ; Michael Hensler, Thomas Twp. ; four grandchildren, James, David, Alex and Kassie; one brother, James Vereyken, Oklahoma; sister-in-law, Pat Vereyken, Esville; several nieces and nephews.

Henrietta was preceded in death by her brother, Francis Vereykena and her grandson, Michael Hensler. Funeral Liturgy will take place 10:30 a.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 5376 State St., Saginaw, Michigan. Rev.

Fr. Richard A. Bokinskie will officiate with burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. Friends may visit at The Snow Funeral Home, 3775 N. Center Rd.

(between Shattuck and McCarty), where the family will be present on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass. A Vigil Service will take place 4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Peace Lutheran Church Seed to Branch School Project or Saginaw Farm and Garden.
