Herbert Maynard, age 89, of Columbus, passed away on Sunday, February 17, 2019. He was born on August 18, 1929 to the late Floyd and Oma Fletcher Maynard in Martin County, Kentucky. He worked construction for over 50 years, and was a member of the local 423.

He is preceded in death by wife, Ruth; son, Willie. He is survived by sons, Charles ( Deborah) Maynard, Jimmy (Debbie) Maynard; daughters, Dorothy (Stan) Pemberton, Mary (Doug) Fluty, Loretta (Neil) Conkel; 26 grandchildren, and many great grandchildren. Herbert was one of 17 children, and is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Troy, Thomas Jefferson, Jessie, and John Maynard, as well as Madge Ousley, Ola Patrick, Rebecca McCoy, Doris Posani, Aileen Bowens, and Naoma Jean Hill.

He is preceded in death by his brothers Floyd Maynard Jr., Vernal, Edgar, Claude Maynard, and sisters Mida Newell, and Patricia Patrick. He is also survived by his dear nieces, nephews, and other very good friends. Friends may call at the O.R WOODYARD CO.

CHAPEL 1346 S. High St. on Friday, from 5 to 8 PM where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM. Pastor Tim Stevens officiating. Interment at Obetz Cemetery.
