Obituary of Hernan Zuniga Hernan Zuniga, 86, of Elizabeth, NJ passed away on March 24, 2018. Hernan was born on October 15, 1931 in Tulua, Valle Colombia. In the early years of his life, he was a volunteer firefighter, an administrator of a hospital in Colombia, and even owned his own restaurant.

In 1978, he moved his family to the United States to start a new life. In his spare time he enjoyed reading, writing, sports and playing bingo, but his passion was music and dancing. There was nothing he enjoyed more than to spend quality time with his family.

He was a parishioner of Our Lady of the Most Holy and St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Elizabeth, where was involved with various activities and an active life of that church. Hernan is survived by his 5 children, Carlos H Zuniga, Maria del Pilar Gomez, Patricia E Donohue, Claudia M Alvarado, Paola A Gonzalez and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family and friends are invited to attend the Memorial Service which will be held at August F Schmidt Memorial Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 3rd 2018 12:00-3:00pm.

Mass will follow at Our Lady of the Most Holy and St Michael’s Church in Elizabeth at 4:00pm.
