Holly June Fabian (nee: Haefele) 71, passed away on Saturday January 12, 2019 peacefully at home surrounded by family and beloved pets. Holly was born July 3, 1947 in Elyria, and was a lifelong resident. After graduating from Elyria High School in 1965, she went on to pursue Masters Degree in education from Miami University of Ohio.

She married her high school and college sweetheart; Walter Fabian and had two wonderful children in which she adored unconditionally. Holly taught first grade… at both Elyria and Midview schools for a combined thirty eight years. Her passion for teaching was felt by many students as she took great pride in introducing them to the love of reading, especially to Clifford The Bid Red Dog.

She was a lifelong animal lover of both domestic and wild alike. With a nurturing heart she raised and released countless raccoons, robins, and bunnies. An avid gardener and crafter she also loved a good book or anything British on PBS.

She was an active member of The LaPorte United Methodist Church. Holly was tiny but mighty, fun loving, open hearted, open minded, and generous to all. She was not just a devoted mother and best friend to her children, but to all that knew her.

She will be forever missed and never forgotten. Holly is survived by her children; Adam of Columbus, Sara of Toledo, ex husband; Walter of Elyria, sister; Penny (Juratic) of Kirkland. she was preceded in death by her parents; Robert and Audrey Squire Haefele.

The family will receive friends from 4-7 PM Thursday January 17, 2018 at The Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Services 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd. (at State Rt. 57) Elyria (440)322-4626 where a Celebration of Holly’s Life will be at 7:00 PM immediately following visitation.

Pastor Luigi Perez of The LaPorte United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be private. Online condolences to the family can be expressed at www.
