Hope E. Fiedler (nee Gunem) was born on June 12, 1933 in Osseo, WI and entered the gates of heaven January 17, 2019 at the age of 85 from her home in Plymouth. Hope was the 5th of 6 children born to Gilbert & Elvina (Eide) Gunem. She was known as the little girl with beautiful long curls.

She graduated from Osseo-Fairchild High School in 1951. It was in high school that she met the love of her life, Bruce Fiedler. They were married on November 26, 1955, after she finished beauty school and Bruce returned home from the army.

They moved to Minneapolis so Bruce could finish college, residing in an incredibly small trailer and welcomed 2 of their 6 children while living there. They moved to Milwaukee, WI in 1958 when Bruce accepted a job at Allis Chalmers. They moved to Plymouth, WI in 1969 when Bruce became employed at Gilson Brothers.

She resided there until her death. Hope was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at her hometown Lutheran Church. She was raised in a Christian home and made sure her children learned to love God.

Her faith was steadfast throughout her life as was evident during many hardships, illnesses and deaths of loved ones. Hope loved being with her family, especially with Bruce. They were inseparable after Bruce’s early retirement in 1986; travelling to visit anyone that would invite them.

They also enjoyed attending as many musical performances as possible. In earlier years, along with her mom, 2 daughters, 2 sisters, and 2 nieces, summer ‘girl-trips’ were a highlight and considered a necessity. She treasured family gatherings/celebrations of any kind the most.

Mom always ended the day with singing the Lord’s Prayer, an “I Love You” and a, “Takk for i dag (thanks for the day)”. Hope is survived by 4 of her 6 children; Randy (Pam) of Plymouth, Lon (Elizabeth) of St. Paul, MN, Lori (Jack) McCauley of Germantown, WI, Shelley (Michael) McMullen of Green Bay, WI. She is also survived by her sisters, Elenore Gunem and Inez Abraham.

She leaves behind 15 grandchildren; Bradley Fiedler, Shawn Fiedler, April Fiedler (Matt Aker), Gabrielle (Chris) Miller, Michelle (LJ) Coleman, Gilbert Fiedler, Megan (Tyler) Brownfield, Molly (Paul) Vara, Sadie (Peter) Studer, Johnny McCauley, Kevin (Jamie) McMullen, Eric McMullen, Michael McMullen, Hope McMullen (Ryan Schindler), and Jessica McMullen. Hope also leaves behind 9 great-grandchildren: Sophia Fiedler, Brackin & Thea Miller, Addison & Ava Brownfield, Lyla Vara, Bruce, Miles and Theodore McMullen. She is further survived by many special nieces and nephews.
