Howard Edwin Galloway age 92, of Alma, MI, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Schnepp Senior Care and Rehab Center, St. Louis, MI. Funeral Services will be held at Smith Family Funeral Homes St. Louis, MI, on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 11:00 A.M., with Pastor Terri Bentley officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 2-8 P.M. with family present from 2-4 & 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.

Howard was born in Saginaw, MI on May 21, 1925, the son of Carl and Nina (Halstead) Galloway. He resided most of his life in Gratiot County. Howard served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

On May 22, 1948, he married Beulah Alspaugh in Angola, IN. Together they shared nearly 70 years of marriage. Howard worked for Alma Products for 39 years retiring in 1986.

Howard had a passion for antique cars and was a member of the Classic Dreemers Car Club. He traveled all over Michigan showing his 1963 Studebaker. He enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing – anything in the woods.

Howard had a skill for fixing bicycles and lawnmowers. Many of the children in the area would bring their bikes to Mr. Galloway for repairs. Howard is survived by his wife Bea of Alma, son Dave (Karen) Galloway of St. Louis, grandchildren: Jeremy Galloway, Megan Galloway, Nathan Knapp; great grandchildren: Adam (Abby) Bissell, Amber (Nick) DeRosia; and great great grandson Owen DeRosia; and several nieces and nephews.

Howard was preceded in death by his parents and sister Eunice Hogle. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Online condolences can be sent to www.
