Mr. Howard Hauser Reid, 90, of Lexington passed away Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at his home. He was born April 15, 1928 in Surry County, the son of the late, Nathaniel Hampton and Leola Hauser Reid. Mr. Reid was a member of Grace Baptist Church and retired from Tuttle Lumber Company.

He was a founding member of the Arcadia Volunteer Fire Department. He served with the US Army and was an M. P. during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Link Reid, a brother, Augustine Reid, and a sister, Gene Cain.

Survivors include one daughter, Terri Winfree and husband, Glenn of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Ashley McClamrock and husband, J. R. of Pfafftown; one great grandson, Finley James McClamrock; and a special caregiver, Tammy Childress of Lexington. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday, March 2, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Bethlehem Cemetery with Rev. Ron Hawkins officiating.
