Howard Keith Dougherty, 71 of Newport, passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at Carteret Health Care in Morehead City, NC. His memorial service will be held at 11a.m. on Thursday, September 27, 2018, at Cherry Point Church of Christ in the auditorium, officiated by Eric Dougherty. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior.

Howard is survived by his wife of 13 years, Sandy Dougherty, of the home; mother, Jen Dougherty of Newport, NC; sons, Eric Dougherty and wife, Christy, of Newport, NC, Jason Dougherty and wife, Megan, of Vienna, WV; step-daughters, Kimberly Batla of Dallas, TX, Theresa Mills and husband, Joe, of Ashtabula, OH, Christina Smith and husband, Jason, of Royse City, TX; step-son, Willy Dennison and wife, Pat, of Willoughby Hills, OH; sister, Sharon Burrows and husband, Randy, of New Matamoras, OH; 17 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Everett J. Dougherty and brother, Donald Dougherty. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to the Cherry Point Church of Christ at 279 Shipman Road, Havelock, NC 28532.
