Nellie Arnold Guthrie, 75, of Mill Creek, passed away Thursday, September 6, 2018, at her home. Her funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Graham Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mill Creek, officiated by Rev. Bill Hooper, Rev.

Robbie Strickland and Rev. Vince Arnold. Interment will follow at Graham Memorial Cemetery with Rev.

Paul Loftin officiating. Nellie was a member of Graham Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church. She was a foster parent for over 25 years.

Nellie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all and to any stray homeless soul who knocked on her door she was a caregiver to them. She is survived by her husband, Tom Guthrie, of the home; daughters, Marilyn Guthrie and husband, Andrew, of Broad Creek, Irma McCabe of Raleigh, April Thomas of Goldsboro; sons, John A. Willis, Jr. of Mill Creek, Melton D. Guthrie of Jacksonville; sister, Lois Sawyers of Broad Creek; brothers, Linwood Arnold and wife, Millie, of Morehead City, William Arnold and companion, Melinda “Sam” Grimes, of Mill Creek, Mark Arnold and wife, Glenda, of Holly Springs; grandchildren, Drew Guthrie and wife Crystal, Elaina Wingfield and husband Chris, Megan McLeod and husband Brad, Alex Willis, Jacob Ruiz, Hannah Bullock, Jayden Thomas; great-grandchildren, Hunter, Marshall, Donald, Macie, Bryce; numerous nieces and nephews; and fur babies, Bella, Hardy and Ollie. She was preceded in death by her father, Melton D. Arnold and mother, Leola C. Arnold; sons, J.A. Willis and Tommy Guthrie; brothers, J.D. Arnold, Shybo Arnold and Larry Arnold; sister-in-law, Annie Guthrie; nephew, Robbie Currier; and grandson, Brayden Guthrie.

Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Graham Memorial Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mill Creek.
