Obituary of Howard Person Howard Russell Person, age 97, of Roanoke, Virginia, died peacefully Saturday morning, November 3, 2018 at Brandon Oaks Nursing Home in Roanoke, Virginia. Preceded in death by the love of his life Myrtle Irene (Exley) Person. Howard was born February 9, 1921, in Easton, Pennsylvania; he was the son of the late Clarence Earl Person and Jesse Mae Belle.

He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and continued working for the Department of the Navy until his retirement in 1976. He was a devoted father and grandfather. Howard is survived by his three sons, David Richard Person and his wife Jackie of Bloomington, Minnesota, Robert Alan Person of Salem, Virginia, and James Nelson Person and his wife Rosemarie of Duluth, Georgia; eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.

Burial will be 1:00pm Saturday Friday, November 10, 2018 . at Bloomsbury Cemetery in Stewartsville, NJ In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to the Brandon Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 3837 Brandon Ave. SW, Roanoke VA 24018 or at www.
