OBITUARY Hugh Langham Basinger September 17, 1933 – January 10, 2019 Hugh Langham Basinger, 85, passed away January 10, 2019 at Baptist Desoto Hospital. He was a retired Shelby Count Deputy Sherriff with 25 years of service. He enjoyed meeting at Dales Restaurant in Southaven to discuss politics with his friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus George Basinger and Cora Basinger; two sisters, Maddie Mitchell and Elizabeth Polish; brothers, RG Basinger and John L. Basinger. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Peggie Basinger; sons, Bill Basinger and Rusty Basinger; grandchildren, Betsy Miller, Tammie Basinger William Basinger II, Heather Basinger, Alexa Basinger, Lori Shackelford, Cristan Fite and Clint Basinger and six great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday January 13, 2019 from 1-2 p.m., with funeral services to be held at 2 p.m.; all in the chapel of Memphis Funeral Home, 5599 Poplar Avenue, Memphis, Tennessee.

Interment will follow at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 3700 N Germantown Road, Bartlett, Tennessee.
