Obituary for Ida Mae Darsow Mrs. Ida Mae Farlow Darsow, 93, Columbus, passed away on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the home of her son, Craig Darsow. Ida was born on April 1, 1925 in Urbana, Illinois to her father, Raymond Farlow and mother, Mattie “Opal” Harrison. A Memorial Service will be held at Green Tree Senior Living Center in Columbus on Friday, September 21, at 10:30 am.

Ida graduated with an undergraduate degree in social work from the University of Illinois, where she met her husband Donn at a Christian Youth group. Donn and Ida were married on December 28, 1952 and only child Craig was born in 1956. Ida had a great love of learning and enjoyed especially reading books and at one time attended three different book discussion groups.

When Ida was 50, she decided to obtain her Master’s degree in American History as she enjoyed studying and learning. She had a love of cats and had over 8 different beloved house cats throughout her life. She and her husband lived for over 40 years in Minneapolis, Minnesota and relocated to Indiana to be near her son Craig.
