Obituary Service Details Irene A. Vornbaum, age 97, of Swansea, IL, born on November 4, 1921 in East St. Louis, IL, died on November 4, 2018 at her residence with her family. In addition to being a loving, wife, mother and sister, Irene worked various part-time jobs, including Monsanto, Prudential, Malec IGA and Landshire Foods. She was a member of Queen of Peace Parish and a lifetime member of PALS Club.

She was preceded in death husband, William A. Vornbaum; her parents, John and Maryanna, nee Gajda, Malec; and her siblings, Mitchell, Jeanette, Zdzislaw, Thaddeus, Z. John, Rev. Raymond, Pellagia, Florence and Virginia Malec. Irene is survived by her daughter, Marilyn Vornbaum of Swansea, IL and many loving nieces, nephews, great- nieces and great-nephews.

Irene’s daughter wishes to express her gratitude to Vitas Hospice and PSOP for the loving care they gave to her mother. Memorials are preferred to the family. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.
