Irene (nee Brogan) Christy, age 90, longtime resident (since 1965) of West Whiteland Township, PA passed on July 21, 2018. Wife of the late William B. Christy for over 52 years. Loving mother of Charles Alexander (Sally) Christy, Candace Jane (John) Hickey and Thomas Brogan (Randy) Christy and the late W. Bruce Christy, Jr. and Robert Eric Christy.

Also survived by six grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Born on November 30, 1927, to the late Irene Kendrick Brogan and Charles Michael Brogan, Irene is one of eight children with her siblings being Virginia Wheet, Jane Fallon, the late Charles Michael Brogan, Jr., William Brogan, George Brogan, Thomas Brogan, and Loretta Maitre. She graduated Academy of Notre Dame (Villanova) in 1946.

Balanced a career, home and family with grace and strength. She was known for her passion, generosity, wisdom, sweet tooth and love of dogs. In her later years, she was blessed to have been cared for by Diane Brooks which enabled her to stay in the home where she raised her family until her death.

Relatives and friends are invited to her funeral mass 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 27, 2018 at Ss Philip & James Church, Rte 30 & Ship Rd. , Exton, PA 19341 where friends may call 9:30-10:45 A.M. Interment Philadelphia Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers contributions in Irene’s name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Delaware Valley Chapter, 30 South 17th Street, Suite 800, Philadelphia, PA 19103.
