Obituary for Irene Burke (Turbert) Irene Turbert Burke, age 84, of West Haven passed away peacefully at home, with her family at her side, on January 12, 2019. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Burke. Irene was born in New Haven, daughter of the late Edward and Emily Louise Colemen Turbert.

She is survived by her children, Debra (Jesus) Montano of Southington, Donna (Joseph) DelFranco of West Haven, Michael Burke of Derby, and Christopher (Briana) Burke of TX, her grandchildren, Melinda (Christopher) Bennett, Danielle (Sean) Kearney, David (Sarah) Montano, Kimberly (Michael Spodick) DelFranco, Samantha (Zachary Williams) DelFranco, Jenifer, Shawn and Julianne Burke, her great grandsons, Liam, Jackson, Adrian, Landon, and Zackary. Irene was predeceased by her siblings, Robert and Edward Turbert, Eleanor Bonin and Helen Johns. Prior to her retirement, Irene was a bookkeeper with Derby Savings Bank and Webster Bank.

She enjoyed traveling, spending time at the beach, reading, doing crosswords puzzles and crafts. Visitation will be Friday morning from 9-10:30 at the West Haven Funeral Home at the Green. Her funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 10:30 for a Mass of Christian Burial in St. John Vianney Church at 11am.

Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers donations, may be made in her name to CT Hospice 100 Double Beach Rd. Branford, CT 06405.
