Obituary for Irene “Reni” Collins Irene “Reni” Collins, 69 of Zanesville, died, Sunday, October 7, 2018, at The Oaks at Bethesda following a brief illness. She was born Thursday, October 21, 1948, in Clayton, AL, the daughter of Daisy Bell Collins. Reni moved to Cincinnati at a young age to live, and was raised by her aunt and uncle: Annie L. & Otis Harris.

Irene went to grade school at the 7th Day Adventist Church, in Cincinnati, and at the age of eight transferred to the Hamilton County School for the Handicapped. When she turned 18 she became an employee in the school workshoppe. Irene confessed her belief in Jesus Christ, and was baptized by the late Rev.

Fred L. Shuttlesworth on May 5, 1977, and became a member of the Greater New Light Baptist Church. After moving to Zanesville to live with her cousin: Denise Brown, Reni attended Greater Apostolic Church of Christ. She enjoyed going to the Carr Adult Day Care Center, coloring pictures, singing and working puzzles.

Irene is survived by many cousins including Denise & Terrence Brown of Zanesville, and one aunt: Tracy Collins of Atlanta, GA. Irene was preceded in death by her mother: Daisy Bell Collins and her aunt & uncle: Annie & Otis Harris Friends may call 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday, October, 12, 2018, at the Greater Apostolic Church of Christ, 1651 State Street, Zanesville, where Funeral Services will follow at 7:00 PM, with Elder Terrence Brown officiating. Entombment will follow in the Garden Mausoleum at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, at a later date.
