Nathan Lynn Johnson, 66, of Zanesville, passed away Saturday, November 24, 2018, at his home, surrounded by his family. Nathan was born March 20, 1952 to the late Jerry A. and Josephine (Gibson) Johnson. In addition to his parents, Nathan is also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Willie Gibson, Sr., and Jospehine (Black) Gibson; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Monore Johnson; and brothers, David A. Johnson, and George Johnson.

Nathan leaves behind to mourn his passing, his ex-wife and long time friend, Cheryl Coles; his four children, Zackara Johnson, Sr., Adriane Johnson, both of Zanesville, Nathania Johnson, of South Korea, Natikia Johnson, of Columbus; grandchildren, Nautica Johnson, Tiana Johnson, Zackara Johnson, Jr., Rylan Johnson, and Noah Winters, all of Zanesville; brothers, Jerry Johnson, Mark Johnson, Lenora (Margret) Johnson, all of Zanesville; sisters, Carolyn Johnson, Sandra (Anthony) (Johnson) Turner, both of Canal Winchester; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends. Nathan graduated in 1970 in Columbus, Ohio. Nathan was a gifted artist who loved music and was a talented pianist.

Nathan was a skilled mason, performing masonry work all his life. He was a member of The Church of God, 718 Baker St. Nathan earned and achieved his black belt under his brother, David Johnson (Karate Sensei) at the Y.M.C.A. , many years ago.

He will be missed by many. Per Nathan’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. A memorial service will be held in his honor on, Friday, November 30, 2018 at 12 p.m., at Burrell Funeral Services.
