Irene Ruth Taylor, age 81, of State Route 46 South, died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at the Jefferson Healthcare Center. She was born April 19, 1937 in Lakewood, the daughter of Ludwig & Antonia (Psarsky) Hlava. Ruth retired from Andover Industries, where she worked as a quality inspector for many years, making many friends, especially her best friend LeLa.

When not working, she loved finding treasures at yard sales, making pillow blankets, corn bags, and shopping bags for friends and family. She also had a passion for baking cookies and pastries from recipes handed down for generations. Ruth was known for her famous “scrubbies” and would carry them with her at all times to give to others.

Her greatest joy was spending time with her husband, Bill, the love of her life, who she hasn’t seen in 23 years, and it gives the family comfort knowing they are together again. The Taylor family would like to express their gratitude to Hospice of the Western Reserve for all of the loving care they provided. Ruth is survived by her children, Ruth Markley of Cuyahoga Falls, Jane Taylor of Dorset, Elizabeth Taylor and her husband Richard of Pierpont, William Taylor of Jefferson, Irene Taylor of Coldwater, MI, Louise Magley and her husband Brian of New Lyme, Joan Cristiano and her husband Joe of Watertown, CT; sisters, Agnes Matus of Lakewood, Marianne Beachy and her husband Ross of Medina; brothers, Jerry Hlava and his wife Donna of Corbin, KY, Robert Hlava and his wife Anita of Avon Lake; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
