Irvin “Pete” Chirdon, age 60, of Mentor, passed away on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at University Hospital in Cleveland. Born January 1, 1958 in Painesville he was the son of the late Irvin and Mary Lou (Gates) Chirdon. Pete was a long-time resident of Deepwood in Mentor where he worked in the Adult Workshop.
For many years he participated in Special Olympics and was a talented bocce ball player and cross country skier. He had a passion for the outdoors and enjoyed hiking in the woods with his brother Chuck. Pete is survived by his brother: Chuck (Anita) Chirdon; sister: Kathy (Ken) Evan and step father: Ron Baker; brother-in-law: Craig ( Margie) Wills; step-sisters: Pam (John) Roberts and Regina Baker; step- brothers: Doug (Lisa) Baker and Mike Baker; nieces: Alicia Wills and Danielle Chirdon; nephews: Ken (Sarah) Roberts and Jesse Chirdon; step nieces: Amy (Chris) Farkas, Jacklyn Baker , Jennifer Baker, Mikayla (Aaron) Wear; step nephews: Nathan (Morgan) Roberts, Mark Evan and Bill Irwin; several great nieces & nephews Friends and family will be received from 1-3pm on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at the Behm Family Funeral Home, 26 River Street in Madison.
Funeral Service will take place at 3pm. Burial will take place at All Souls Cemetery in Chardon.
