Ivan O’Neal (Cotton) LaFerney, 80, of Griffithville Arkansas passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2018, at his residence in Griffithville Arkansas. He was born October 1, 1937, in Griffithville to the late William Edward (Bill) LaFerney and Vera Audrey Jackson LaFerney. Mr. LaFerney was a member of the church of Christ.

He attended worship services at Doniphan Missouri and was currently attending worship services at Griffithville. Cotton served in the army reserves in 1961. He was self-employed until 1973 and then worked as a riverboat captain until his retirement in 1998.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Jean LaFerney and one child William Dale LaFerney both of Griffithville. He is survived by his wife Becky of Hot Springs Arkansas, one brother Preston & wife Ellen LaFerney of Fayetteville Arkansas, one sister Billie & husband Bill Diles of Searcy and four children, Kenny & wife Cheryl LaFerney of Tuttle Oklahoma, Michelle and husband Pete Hurst of Griffithville, Justin LaFerney of Saint Louis Missouri, Amanda and husband Rick Howard of Godfrey Illinois; Four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren plus a host of beloved nephews and nieces.
