Friday, January 25, 2019 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA for “J.A.” (John Albert) Andrus, 89. Mr. Andrus, a native and long-time resident of Church Point, died Tuesday afternoon, January 22 at The Carpenter House St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette, LA. Monsignor Jefferson J. DeBlanc will conduct the services with interment following in the Monsignor Bienvenu Cemetery on Hwy 35 north of Church Point.

Survivors include his son, Bobby John Andrus of Eunice, LA; his daughters: Andy Guidry and husband Patrick Roger Guidry of Scott, LA, Sandy Alrabaa and husband Aouni Alrabaa of Sugarland, TX and Delaine Andrus and Mandy Matte and husband James “Chubby” Matte-all of Church Point; a sister-in-law, Mondell Daugereaux of Church Point; twelve grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lorena Prejean Andrus Beaugh; his wife, Rose Marie Melancon Andrus; a daughter, Loraine LeBlanc, two grandsons, Kearney Nicholas Richard and Brooks O’Neal Richard; a brother, Martin Andrus; a sister, Ida Ruth Lavergne; two stepbrothers, Mackie and Cree Beaugh; four stepsisters: Lois DeJean, Clara Beaugh Busby, Lola Beaugh and Norcille Cain; his step-father, Sidney Beaugh and his Godchild, Jolly Gibbets. Truly loved, he will be sadly missed by his extended family and friends.

A U.S. Army veteran, Mr. Andrus will be honored with the Flag Presentation Ceremony at the time of services. The family requested that visiting hours be observed at Guidry Funeral Home from 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. on Thursday, January 24 and continue from 8:00 A.M. Friday until the time of the services. A recitation of the Rosary will be held there at 7:00 P.M. Thursday by Monsignor DeBlanc.
