Obituary for Jacob A. Sonatore Jacob A. Sonatore, age 88, passed away on Saturday, September 15th at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick, surrounded by his children. Jacob was born in Elizabeth, and had been a long-time resident of Fords and Piscataway. Mr. Sonatore was a veteran of the US Army, and served in the Korean War.
Before his retirement, he was a professional sign salesman and photographer, who enjoyed playing and listening to music. His love of music is carried on by his children and grandchildren. Mr. Sonatore was predeceased by his wonderful wife of 59 years, Irene A. Sonatore (nee Higgins), his son Andrew Sonatore, his daughter Ann Christian and his grandson Theodore (Todd) Sonatore.
He is survived by his children, Donna Marie Sonatore, Matthew Sonatore and his wife Lisa, Nina Sonatore, Jennifer Hansen and her husband Roy, Paul Sonatore and his wife Rita and Jason Sonatore and his wife Carol, and his brother, John Sonatore, and his wife Joan. He will be greatly missed by his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and his loyal friends. Mr. Sonatore’s life will be celebrated on Saturday, September 22, 2018 from 12:00 to 3:00PM at the Piscataway Funeral Home at 18 Stelton Road, Piscataway.
