Danville Funeral service for James “Buckknuckin” Bates, 23, will be Friday, October 5, 2018 at 1:30 PM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Francis Proctor officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Nelson Hollow Cemetery.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 4, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Bates died on Wednesday, October 3, 2018. He was born April 24, 1995, in Morgan County to Joe and Rose Goodwin Bates.

James was an amazing child that loved everyone. He loved to draw and make music. He was preceded in death by his grandmother: Annie Goodwin.

Survivors include: his Parents: Joe and Rose Bates, Danville, AL One Sister: Bell Bates, Danville, AL Grandfather: James Goodwin, Jr., Hartselle, AL Pallbearers will be Mithias Goodwin, Elbert Goodwin, Timothy McNutt, Floyd McNutt, James England, and William England.
