Somerville Funeral service for Rev. Dewitt Crowe, 81, will be Thursday, November 29, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Henderson and Bro.

Ron Manly officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in New Friendship Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, November 28, 2018 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.

Rev. Crowe died on Monday, November 26, 2018 at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born April 16, 1937, in Morgan County to Thomas Emmanuel Crowe and Eva Inez Taylor Crowe.

He was a Baptist Minister for 40 years preaching at various churches, a few of which were; Union Hill Baptist at Ardmore, TN, Hopewell Baptist at Danville, Walden’s Chapel, Valhermoso Springs Baptist and retiring at Southwest Baptist because of health issues. He is a member of Tunsel Road Baptist Church and was known for his words of wisdom. He loved gospel music so much so, that he and his family traveled together for 15 years sharing the gospel in song.

He also was employed for a time at Copeland Corporation as a machine operator. Survivors include : his Wife of 62 years: Libby Crowe, Somerville, AL One Son: Tommy Crowe (Kim), Hartselle, AL Two Daughters: Cam Emerson (Mark), Somerville, AL and Darlene Grantland (David), Somerville, AL Two Brothers: Bobby Crowe, Decatur, GA and Billy Joe Crowe, Nashville, TN Two Sisters: Mary Ann Lemmond, Decatur, AL and Carol Hankins, Somerville, AL Three Grandchildren: Brandon Emerson (Jaime), Tanner, AL, Seth Emerson, (Sabrina), Falkville, AL and Chandler Crowe (Fiance’- Daniel Cantor), Madison, AL Five Great Grandchildren: Bryson, Andee, Alley, Noah and Sadie Pallbearers will be his Nephews. Honorary Pallbearers will be W.C. Brown, Paul Adkins, Jr. Miller, Dean Johnson, and James Harold Crowe, In lieu of flowers: the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home.
