Funeral service for Gordon E. Compton, 73, will be Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. G.W. Atchley and Bro. Wayne Walls officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, November 13, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Compton died on Sunday, November 11, 2018 at his residence.

He was born December 3, 1944, in Madison County to Edgar and Doshia Elizabeth Nix Compton. Mr. Compton was a member of Pine Grove Holiness Church for 35 years. He was married 50 years to his wife and he loved his family.

He was a retired truck driver from Shelby Contracting. He was a loving father and grandfather and he was a peace maker. Special thanks to Southern Care Hospice of Alabama for their wonderful care.

Survivors include his Wife, Mary Linda Compton Two Sons: Steven Eugene Compton David Lynn Compton One Daughter: Melinda Francene Swader Two Brothers: Fred Jr. Ward and Jimmy Dale Ward Five Sisters: Barbara Stewart Susan Sharp Judy Hallman Dianne Bradshaw and Cathy Esensoy Four Grandchildren Pallbearers will be Bill Suggs, Chris Kimbrough, Charlie Kimbrough, Benny Kimbrough, Ricky Jones, Steven Swader and James Kimbrough.
