Johnson Thelma Johnson Education: Sam Houston High School Church Affiliation: Wesley Grove Missionary Baptist Church Earthly Ending: January 25, 2019 James was preceded in death by his father, Booker T. Johnson, his mother, Thelma Johnson, and his sister, Debra Philio. James served in The United States Army. After an honorable discharge, he moved to Houston, Texas where he drove bus for Rapid Transit.

After a brief stay in Abilene, he moved to Dallas, where he retired from UPS. James is survived by his loving wife, Esther Baldwin Johnson, one daughter Keisha Butler (Ezekiel), two sons Mark Anthony Scott, James Johnson, Jr.; three stepsons Darrin, Carl, & John, five grandchildren & two great grandchildren, one sister Glenda Sims, two brothers Bobby Garrett & Arthur Miller, one niece (Mallori), one nephew (Bobby), one loving uncle ( Malone Johnson), and many other loving relatives & friends.
