James Curtis Holman 05/29/1945 ~ 06/16/2018 James Curtis Holman passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Ogden Regional Hospital. He was born May 29, 1945 to Hallie Curtis and Dorothy Baugh Holman in Omaha, Nebraska. He was the only son and had four sisters.
He was raised in Emporia, Kansas and loved to be with his dad and to dote on his mother. He attended Roosevelt High school and was proud to have been a member of the football team. He spent a short time in college at Emporia State.
Jim joined the U.S. Air Force and served for four years in Vietnam. He said he just worked to keep the air planes in the air. He was very proud of his service.
He worked a number of different jobs and was able to retire from Hill Air Force Base as an Aircraft Mechanic Supervisor after 22 years. He loved the F-4 and F-16 aircraft. Jim was a master mechanic and owned his own service station in Morgan for quite a while.
He could fix anything and loved to tinker. Jim was member of the LDS church and was proud that all of his sons served missions. He married Betty Carter and they had five children, Chad, Bret, Travis, Jason and Lisa.
They later divorced. He met Adele Parker and he said he had found his soul mate and always told people that she was his princess. Together they had a daughter, Ellen.
Jim loved to be with his kids and to do whatever he could to see that they were happy. He loved to hunt and fish. He loved to sing along and change the words to songs in the car.
He enjoyed eating out at good restaurants. When he was younger, he was an excellent snow mobile racer. He won many awards and loved to talk about those times.
Jim was a Utes fan and always had on red and had a bright “U” lit up in the window when they played. He was loved by everyone he knew. The neighbors thought he was the best.
Even the girls at Triple Stop knew his order before he got to the window. He was a meticulous housekeeper; his home and yard were always perfection. He struggled with his heath for the last few years but overcame many obstacles.
He was a fighter to the end. The family wishes to thank all the doctors, nurses and therapists over the years for the care and concern they had given him. Jim was proud of his kids and grandkids.
He is survived by Adele and his children, Chad and Stacey Holman, Morgan; Bret and Vicki Holman, Ulysses, KS; Travis Holman, North Salt Lake; Jason Holman, Morgan; Lisa and Aaron Rose, Morgan; Ellen Parker, West Haven; 11 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. The family will meet with friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. , where Military Honors will be accorded.
