Obituary for James D. “Jim” Neely Dateline Jasper, IN James D. “Jim” Neely, age 60, of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 10:42 a.m. on Friday, November 16, 2018, at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center in Jasper, Indiana. Jim was born in Deerfield, Illinois, on January 23, 1958, to James and Carol (Schauberger) Neely. He married Ann (Gadlage) Taylor on January 24, 2003.

He was a 1976 graduate of Dayton Christian High School and was a 1980 graduate of Cedarville College, where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree. Jim previously was the News Director for WITZ and was a pastor at Grace Community Church. He was a member of CrossPoint Fellowship Church.

He loved to write, listen to music, and spending time with his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife, Ann Neely, Jasper, IN, one daughter, Sarah (Evan) Bradshaw, Indianapolis, IN, one step daughter, Amy (Shaun) Mehringer, Evansville, IN, one step son, Ryan (Dayna) Taylor, Jasper, IN, four grandchildren, Ally, Kayden, Max, and Wyatt, his mother, Carol Neely, Terre Haute, IN, two sisters, Janie (John) Street, Santa Clarita, CA, Patty (Dave) Zemmer, Terre Haute, IN, one brother, Kenn (Julie) Neely, Evanston, IL. Preceding him in death are his father, James Neely, and one sister, Sandy Lewis.

Funeral services for James D. “Jim” Neely will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, Indiana, with burial to follow at a later date. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. service time at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the wishes of the family.
