Obituary for Marilyn M. Kress Dateline Jasper, IN Marilyn M. Kress, age 79 of Jasper, Indiana, passed away at 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper, Indiana. Marilyn was born in Jasper, Indiana on October 1, 1939 to William and Elfrieda (Borho) Kreilein. She married David F. Kress on June 8, 1963 in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Jasper.

She retired from German American Bank in Jasper after 35 years of service where she was hired as the first female bank teller. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper, and their CRHP group, the Jasper Circle of the Daughters of Isabella, a 56 year member of the Psi Iota Xi Zeta Mu Chapter Sorority, and the Jasper American Legion Post #147 Auxiliary. She enjoyed sending greeting cards and notes, and spending time with friends and especially her family.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years, David F. Kress, Jasper, one daughter, Maria Duncan, Huntingburg, two sons Kurt Kress (John O’Grady), Playa Del Carmen, Mexico, and Jason Kress (Giah), Hendersonville, TN, six grandchildren, Kody Kress, Noah Kress-Jones, Canyon Duncan, Drake Lee, Brennan Kress and Ethan Kress, 1 great grand daughter Kyley Kress, one sister, Diana Clark (Larry), Hot Springs, AK, and one brother Donald Kreilein, Jasper, nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents. A Mass of Christian Burial for Marilyn M. Kress will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Jasper with burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Jasper.

A visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 at the Becher-Kluesner Downtown Chapel in Jasper, and from 9:00 a.m. until the 10:00 a.m. service time at Holy Family Catholic Church on Thursday. The Holy Family Parish will pray the rosary at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday and the Psi Iota Xi Zeta Mu Sorority will perform a memorial service at 6:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Family Catholic Church or a favorite charity.
