Somerville Funeral service for James D. (Jimmy) Maze, 70, will be Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Gum Springs Baptist Church with Bro. Anthony Patterson and Bro. Harold Kelly officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Gum Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 29, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home. Mr. Maze died on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his residence.

He was born March 29, 1948, in Morgan County to Joseph William Maze and Mamie Lois Reeves Maze. He was a member and Deacon of Gum Springs Baptist Church, and was employed by Copeland Corporation, as a supervisor, prior to his retirement. He loved and enjoyed woodworking but the love of his life was his wife, his girls and his grandchildren.

He enjoyed taking family trips and adventures with those he loved. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: William “Buddy” Maze, and Three sisters: Wilma Cheatham, Evelyn Blankenship and Learlene Southern. His family would like to offer a “special thanks ” to Southern Care New Beacon Hospice for their tender care and compassion, especially Amanda and Cindy.
