James E. Cover, age 91, passed away Saturday, September 1, 2018 at the Gettysburg Center. He was born Wednesday, December 15, 1926 in Hanover, the son of the late James E. and Emma E. (Mellott) Cover, Sr. Jim was formerly employed by H. C. Gulden Manufacturing in Aspers for 46 and 1/2 years. He and his wife, Ethel also worked on the farms of Melvin and Cecil Bean.

He was a member of St Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Ira E. Lady American Legion Post 262 in Biglerville and Life member… Read More » of the Bendersville Fire Company. He served in the US Army during World War II. His wife Ethel M. (Neider) passed away in February of 2011.

He is survived by two sons, Richard P. and wife Patsy Cover and James E. Cover, Jr., both of Bendersville, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his sister, Paulie Copenhaver. Professional services are entrusted to Dugan Funeral Home, Inc., 111 South Main St., Bendersville.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, September 5, at Dugan Funeral Home with Reverend Father John Kuchinski officiating. Burial with military honors provided by Adams County Allied Veterans will be conducted in Oak Lawn Memorial Gardens. A viewing will be held on Wednesday from 9 AM until time of services.
