James E. Herr, 79, of Robesonia, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019, at the WellSpan Good Samaritan Hospital, Lebanon. He was the husband of Viola G. Martin Herr and the late Elsie Witmer Herr. Born in Lancaster Co., on May 1, 1939, he was the son of the late Elam H. and Susan Brumbach Herr.

James was a retired mechanic. For 32 years, he had worked at the former Eisenhauer Nissan in Wernersville and later at Ebling’s Lawn and Garden in Myerstown. He was a member of Bernville Mennonite Church.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son Roy M. (Joanna) Herr of Richland; daughters Arlene F. (Leonard) Zimmerman of New Holland, Pauline F. (Dean) Clugston of Brownsville OR, Naomi C. (Andrew) Snader of Denver and Judith E. (Titus) Mast of Newberry, IN; brother Mark Herr of Mechanicsburg, Mahlon (Esther Mae) Herr of Ephrata and John (Marion) Herr of Lititz; twenty five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by his brother Marlin Herr. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at the Bernville Mennonite Church, 9 Henne Road, Bernville.

A viewing will be held on Monday, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Richland Mennonite Church, 399 N. Race St., Richland. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Kreamer & Lum Funeral Home & Crematory, Jonestown, is honored to serve the family.
