James E. “Jim” Curts, 71, of Corydon, died Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at Harrison County Hospital in Corydon. He was born February 16, 1947, In New Albany, Indiana, to the late Jesse C. Curts, Sr. and Ruth L. Straub Curts. He was retired from maintenance at the U. S. Census Bureau in Jeffersonville, Indiana, was a charter member of the Marine Corps League in Scottsburg, Indiana, was a member of the USMC Vietnam Tankers Association and the American Legion Post #133 in Alton, Indiana, and was a Tet Offensive survivor and U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam War.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, William C. “Bill” Curts. Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Susan L. Haas Curts; his sons, Steven C. Curts of Corydon and Kevin L. Curts of Riverside, California; his brothers, Robert L. “Bob” Curts (Norma) of Leavenworth, Indiana, Joseph A. “Joe” Curts (Anna) of Corydon and Jesse C. Curts, Jr. (Zula) of New Salisbury, Indiana; his sisters, Janice M. Weaver (Bob) of Leavenworth and Sandra K. Puckett (Jim) of Corydon; and many loving nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 21, 2018, at Beanblossom-Cesar Funeral Home in Corydon.

Burial will be in Cedar Hill Cemetery in Corydon. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Saturday and after 11:00 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The family requests that expressions of sympathy be made to the American Cancer Society.

Pallbearers will be Bob Curts, Joe Curts, Jesse Curts, Jr., Jim Puckett, Daniel Haas and Jim Albin.
