James E. Stroud, 69, of North Little Rock passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2019. He was born October 5, 1949 in Little Rock, Arkansas to James C. and Katherine Stroud. James was a Vietnam Combat Decorated Veteran who served his country in the United States Army.

He loved his grandchildren Haley and Blake, NASCAR racing, and was especially a fan of Dale Earnhardt and Dale Jr He is survived by his sister, Sandra Stilwell; nephew, David Stilwell (Belinda); grandchildren, Haley Whitaker and Blake Whitaker; special friends, Bob and Kathy Loveless; and other extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Brooke Stroud Whitaker.

Memorials may be made to Paralyzed Veterans of America, 801 Eighteenth Street NW, Washington, DC 20006. A visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at Smith – North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main Street. A Memorial Service with military honors will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 West Maryland Avenue, North Little Rock.
