Mr. James Ertle Hunt, 71, of 4546 Pine Log Rd. of Lumberton, was born April 5, 1947. He departed this life on October 4, 2018 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.

Mr. Hunt attended Saddletree Church of God, was a member of the Young at Heart Club and a member of the Traveling Companions. He was an Electrician for 39 years at Goodyear Tire Company Fayetteville, NC. Mr. Hunt was preceded in death by his father and mother Grady Hunt and Parnell Cummings Hunt; his brother, Stewart Hunt; and one grandson, Tristin C. Hunt.

Mr. Hunt leaves to cherish his memories and life lessons; his wife, Shirlean C. Hunt of 49 years; four sons, Steven E. Hunt (Prentice) of Garner, NC, Ashley W. Hunt (Richelle) of Schenectady, NY, Dustin C. Hunt (Tonya) of Lumberton, NC and Rev. Jason E. Hunt (Anna) of Orangeburg, SC; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hunt; eight grandsons, Elijah J. Hunt, Jacob M. Hunt, Dylan J. Sanderson, Ashley W. Hunt, Jr., Koltin J. Hunt, Jared E. Hunt, Connor T. Hunt and Hayden L. Hunt. Mr. Hunt loved and cherished his siblings and friends, Patricia Hunt, Jackie Clark (Dexter), Sharon Locklear (George) and Grady Hunt.
