Obituary for James Hatcher James A. “Jim” Hatcher of Campbellsville, son of the late Herbert W. Hatcher and Laura Raymer Hatcher, was born March 3, 1945, in Jefferson County, Kentucky. He died at 5:51P.M., Saturday, June 16, 2018 in Elizabethtown. Age: 73 He professed faith in Christ and was of the Cumberland Presbyterian faith.
Jim was a veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country honorably in the United States Navy and received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (two bronze stars), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with device. He was a retired truck driver, a member and past master of the Pitman Masonic Lodge #124, a member of the Grand Lodge of Kentucky, a member of American Legion Post #82, a member of the VFW and a devoted husband and father who loved to hunt and fish. He united in marriage to Kaye Shofner May 2, 1969.
Besides his wife, Kaye Hatcher of Campbellsville, he is survived by one son, Darin Hatcher and wife, Kathy of Campbellsville; three grandchildren: Samuel Hatcher, Leah Hatcher and Esther “Sister Rose” Hatcher of Campbellsville; eleven brothers and sisters: Timmy Hatcher and wife, Tammy, Mark Hatcher and wife, Teresa, Stevie Hatcher and Shelia Hatcher of Buffalo, Barry Hatcher and Fran Hatcher of Hodgenville, Ollie Harris and husband, Joe of North Carolina, Bonnie White and husband, Bob of Alaska, Gary Hatcher and wife, Daphene of Pioneer Village, David Hatcher and wife, Reitha of Shepherdsville and Tommy Hatcher and wife, Kim of Elizabethtown; one brother-in-law and one sister-in-law: Butch Barbour of Hodgenville and Dorothy Hatcher of Summersville; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends.
